Dr. Michael D. Blackburn

Dr. Blackburn is a native of Mobile, Alabama. He received a B.S. degree from the University of Alabama in 1984 and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the UAB School of Optometry in 1988. He has over 20 years of experience caring for patients, young and not so young, while practicing in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. He returned to Birmingham in 1995 and opened Oak Mountain Eye Care, P.C., in February 2001. He enjoys caring for patients of all ages, from 1 to 100 years old. Dr. Blackburn and his wife, Cindy, have three school-aged children.
 

Debbie - Office Manager

Debbie joined the staff of OMEC in January ’07 with a BA in business and experience in office management in healthcare and Christian ministry fields. She is thankful her husband of 34 years, and their two sons and daughters-in-law, and one very precious grandson! 
 

Jennifer, CPO -- Optometric Assistant

Jennifer has 12 years experience working in optometry, with several certifications in the field. She joined the OMEC staff in August 2007 and enjoys the daily challenges of patient education and service. 
She has been married for over 3 years to her wonderful husband and they have a beautiful and very spoiled dachshund named “Honey”. 

Angie, ABOC -- Optician

Angie has been working in the optometric field for over 25 years.  She joined the OMEC staff in March of 2010 and is delighted to help patients look and see their best with their new eyewear.  She has been married for almost 23 years they have two beautiful teenaged daughters.
